Week 2 Update
This was a big week, and I'm currently playing catch-up as I'm out with the flu...
We presented project sketches on Tuesday, and I definitely need more ideas. I'm currently looking more into "life sized" circuits - by this I mean I worked on an escape room where there were labeled metal hooks scattered around the room, and a series of puzzles led players to match specific ends of ropes to the hooks, creating basically a web of rope across the room. The ropes were interlaced with wire, so they closed a circuit if all placed correctly. The circuit triggered an electromagnet that opened a chest. I'm not creating an escape room obviously, but this concept could be taken in many directions, such as
- A large map where people can connect places of personal significance together and it would trigger a reaction of some sort (ties back to a sculpture I did a while ago about the meaning of home)
- A representation of human connection
- An interactive obstacle course ??
Now, I am watching the videos to prep for lab 2 that I missed, and beginning the build of lab 3. My goal is to finish lab 3 over the weekend and play around with lab 2 as soon as we get back after the long weekend (provided I'm not contagious). Updates to come!
